Mangonui Festival 11th Year and Snapper Bonanza

Mangonui Festival on March 28 2026! Be there for great bands. plenty of stalls, and to meet the locals.

Mangonui Festival

The gates open at 12 pm on March 28 2026. We are celebrating 11 years of the festival fun this year so it is not to be missed!

The Festival draws locals from across the Far North but it is a mecca for non locals too. Great bands on the main stage, line dancers, youth performances, loads of quality food and beverage stalls - and the local shops and pub get in on the fun also!

Great bands, Live entertainment and food and wine and other stalls. This is looking like a bumper year!

You can get tickets online Waterfront Festival - Doubtless Bay or pay at the gates. Parking provided or a shuttle bus from Kaitaia, another from Whatuwhiwhi and also Kaeo way.

Winning Snapper - Huge cheque and trophy!

Another stalwart Far North Event is the Snapper Bonanza Surf Casting Competition this year set down for March 10-14 March 2026. This is great week of fishing the world famous 90 Mile Beach ( harder than it looks!) and you can go in the draw for the heaviest Snapper ( prize of $30 000 and trophy) or the average weight snapper ($10 000) But what the locals enjoy is the massive spot prizes culminating in a ticket holder - doesn't have to be a fisherman winning the Mitsubishi Triton!
